if you followed me on twitter, or you were aware of my tweets, then you would have known already. for those who don't know what the toot i'm talking about,

i met an accident this afternoon.

yes. an accident.
with a trailer.
not a lorry.
a 1 1/2 storey high trailer.

and Alhamdulillah i'm fine and well (and attached) =D

here's the story!
this morning when i woke up, i had this uneasy feeling that i can't really give a name to. this feeling that you feel like something bad is going to happen, but you think you're being paranoid, so you try to ignore it, but it still comes back to you, like obb can my description be any longer? know what i mean?
i felt that. i felt like i shouldn't go to work. but then, what excuse can i give to the office?

me: hello, yaw, i don't think i should come to office yawww!

office: you crazey mayn?? whatcha think yo daddeyh own this companayh? you be trippin'!

me: yaw i just have this uneasy feelin, aiteeee! you be undastandin'!

office: no paycheck this month.

dayumm. ok fyi, people in my office don't 'sound' like that! they use civilised english =)

so yeah, i went to work anyway, despite having this feeling. while driving, i prayed to God to make this feeling go away. to make it be just my imagination. and i've recited Al-fatihah and ayat kursi to calm myself down.
i got to the office fine.
but at lunch was when it happened.

it was at the u-turn near my office. i'm not gonna go into detail with the story, but just know my front part of the car was in between the back of the trailer's huge tyre (it's bigger than my car!) and the u-turn road divider.
it was a freaky experience. Alhamdulillah my reflexes were quick too! i think if i hadn't reacted quickly just now, it would've been worse!

anyhoos, a few strangers came and help me and the trailer driver to get my car unstuck! thank you kind strangerss!!! may Allah bless you! =D and my colleagues actually came to help. including my boss! you guys are awesome! =D

don't worry, if you're worried, coz i'm fine and healthy, and my collegue who was more at risk was fine too, so Alhamdulillah.

the reason why i tell you this, is not to ask for sympathy. NO!
it's to tell you guys about instinct.

when you have this uneasy, deep gut, hard-to-explain feeling, and you feel like something's gonna happen to you or people around you, trust it. take necessary actions, if you expected it. but when you can't, pray.
God made things happen to us, good and bad, for us to learn. and from this experience, i definitely learnt.
i learnt that i should trust my instincts, be careful, be more patient when driving, be thankful, and practise my reflexes.

so for credits, i thank all the strangers who helped me during the accident, my colleagues who helped me bring my car back to the office, Dato' for taking me to the police station, policemen for being very cooperative, my parents for their support and strength, Allah, for allowing me to live on =)

Fancy lying down while playing the computer

so if you have seen Shea's blog at myamethyst-shea.com, Miss Yanny's blog at adriani-a.blogspot.com and Cik Epal's at cikepal06.blogspot.com, you would have known that we went on a date together. haha!!
oh, i'm the last to update about this. =p

since they've already described how our date went, i'm going to share about something else. did you know that the jam towards MidValley that day was RIDICULOUS? i was on the verge of going mental. hahaha! i pantang sikit bab bab jam ni. =p

ok that was not the point. haha!

compared to shea, yanny and cik epal, i was really simple. i was wearing that mason-cropped-tee, green inner, black jeans and flats.ok i know that cropped tee is very mason, but i didn't realise! it's an honest mistake! i only bought it because i like the fact that it's long sleeved and cropped. anyway, these ladies are gorgeous! and Cik Epal is simply fun!

oh oh, and to make it clear, i did not wear hijab for fashion. if i wanted to be fashionable, i wouldn't be wearing hijab kot!! i could wear short skirts, knee high stockings, cropped tee without wearing an inner, short dresses, have my hair in plaits, permed, oh gosh, and soo much more! get the point? i wear hijab because i respect my religion, i fear for Him, and i don't have any excuse for not wearing it. =)

i may be weird, but i can think.

so that day, before going to Midvalley to meet up with these gorgeous ladies, before having lunch with the family, i was online checking facebook. we only have 1 PC at home, so we all always fight for out turn to use the internet.
anyway, that morning, i was lucky enough to have my turn. and as usual, i went to my facebook. i checked the inbox, notifications and friend requests.
i was wondering la, why is the notification so sikit? then, why friend requests ada 10 people? coz i remembered i had a bit more.. ok whatever. approve, approve, approve.
then i went to my profile. i saw my mom's status.
and i commented la.

the funny part was.
I WAS LOGGED ON TO MY MOM'S ACCOUNT! 

when i went to the profile, i thought i was looking at my mom's status!! when i'm actually looking at my own status as my mom!! okay does that make sense? whatever. hahahahahahahaa!!!
NOOB GILA OKAYYY!!

so yeah, my mom's a Maria too. hehehe!! sorry mother! =p you da best, you know? me love you very much you know? heheheheehe!! =p

Fainted, got up and taught a new word

yes yes, it was my Birthday yesterday and yes yes, i did NOT celebrate it this time.
why?

simple.

because i don't need to. =)

i just want to stay at home, relax and absorb everything and every blessings i've received this year.
last year, i wished that 2010 will be filled with unexpected events, changes, fun and success.

alhamdulillah i've had just that =)

i am truly thankful for all the wishes from you at Facebook! you made me feel special! hehehee!! and my friends and family who've called and texted, i love you guys!!! =D

oh, i got the shock of my life when my friend told me Yuna actually posted my Hijab Chill tutorial on her Tumblr. i was like serious?!?!? and my eyes teared up, for what reason, i also don't know, i'm weird that way..
and when i saw it, i was like..

okay. so is Yuna gonna wear the hijab like me?

my friends and i watched the theatre called Natrah two nights ago. 

Natrah was played by Maya Karin. oh Maya, why are you so gorgeous? and why are you acting as a teenager padahal you're already in your 30s? haha! 

so at one point, Natrah was at a crossroad between her real mother and her adoptive mom (mak angkat).

she really loves her mak angkat, so she was battling with her real mother to let her go and stuff.

why? why do you hate that name?? Dato Yusof Haslam bukan main suka nama Maria ok! he kept using the name for the characters in his movies!

who loves traffic jams? especially during weekends when you're on your way to meet someone and you have been very excited before you left your place.

i really really can't understand how jam can happen on highways.
why? why must there be jams?
whats the point of having new roads built and opening new highways?
whats the point of even creating cars with bigger cc's when they're just going to end up driving at 20km/h anyway?

sorry i haven't been updating since last post. i was kinda having a writer's block. haha!

even Angelina Jolie can't fix the problem which lies in the CULTURE of the people there.
i felt like hiring a thousand hypnotists and take them there and hypnotise every men in the country so that they will change.
but that's impossible and of course, not allowed.

we have it so easy here. we have options and choices.
their options are - life or death. survive or give up. own's life or children's life.

wake up people, we're fortunate!

i literally wore everything i posted! now you know what my style is like. i am not that feminine, but i'm not a tomboy either. i settle in the middle.
i wear what i'm comfortable in. when i'm comfortable, i am happy. and when i'm happy, i'm confident! oh, i always put the WEATHER as my first priority. if it's hot, wear less layers. if it's cold, well, it never really got cold.. hahaha!! (i told you kan, i sweat a lot..)

HFW 7 - Bye bye HFW, i'm off to buy some groceries.

wuuu.. it's the last day for the loved week of all time! but fret not my dearests, i am positive that this won't stop here. =D

so today's HFW theme is "the Cup of Life" - Running Errands.

everyday is like an errand to me! since i live by myself now, i have to buy food, stock up on groceries and toiletries, wash my clothes, clean my room and the apartment, fill up the petrol, OHHH the list just goes on and on!! hehee!

here, i'm wearing checkered shirt which i bought in Jakarta many years ago, my favourite brown jeans, orange gladiator sandals from CarloRino, mom's old brown sling bag from Bally, shawl tepi jalan and awesome shades i bought in Amsterdam. the hand accessories are my everyday wear. i hardly ever take them off! i told you i love accessories. =D

running errands, i must always wear clothes i'm comfortable in. i'll be walking around and the probability of me sweating while doing my errands is HIGH! so just a simple outfit is favorable. oh oh oh!! I'M A JEANS GIRL! holla!

now before i end this post, i just want to warn you Malaysians to be careful of Denggi which is spreading like wildfire nowadays. avoid going to places with loads of mosquitoes, i.e. restaurant tepi tasik, stall next to a drain, anywhere you see have high population of mosquitoes. don't take Denggi lightly. 

be careful ok? prevention is better than cure!

HFW 6 - I gotta date with the Night

if you know Yeah Yeah Yeahs, then you know what i'm talking about =B
else, it's ok.

i got a date with Dato'! ummm actually i HAD a date with Dato'. these were taken last week when we went to Bukit Tinggi the 1st time, but we missed our chance to wear the kimono. hence, he took me there AGAIN, just so that i got to wear the kimono (as seen on HFW 4)! how sweet is Dato'? =D

here, i was wearing Miss Selfridge long dress inside (it's on sale now!! go grab 'em!), and a chiffon aztec-ish top bought at a street market, red sling bag from Primark, red pumps from Cotton On (forgive me, but i do love my red pumps!), shawl from tepi jalan, rings and headband from Forever 21.

simple again right? but it's comfortable, it's sweet, and it's not dull. patterns are so in right now and i am loving these abstracts on my top! i wore that headband because i've had it since i wasn't wearing hijab (before), and i can't give it away.. i love it too much! so i thought, the heck with it, i'm gonna wear it Arab-styleee! haha!

HFW 5 - Alhamdulillah, it's Friday!! =D

so today's theme is Weekend Wear, and on weekends, i usually hang out with my family!

my family and i always have dinner together on weekends, so last weekend, we had ours at the Curve. during dinner, we update each other about our lives, make fun of each other, piss each other off, talk about random stuff, etc etc. oh, and we usually eat for about 15mins. yes, we are fast eaters. =p

so i wore a simple salmon coloured inner, a lace button-down shirt i wore as cardigan, navy blue maxi skirt, vintage sling bag, and for shoes, i wore oxford flats!

teehee! hope you can see it. sorry la camera biasa jeee. =B

meet Mr.Diggles! he's my brother's pet hedgehog. incredibly cute and prickly, and he's sooo hyper! =D

anyway, i really like how that turquiose pendant pops out from the blahhness of my attire. it matches with the hues in my hijab too. it's a simple combination (like all my other clothes for the past 4 days), but it's just the way i like it. i am all about simplicity and basic wear.
that's why i love accessories! they can just add that extra attitude into your look. =D

 that's really it about my outfit! hope you like it and maybe get inspired for the next time you go out with your family or friends on your weekend!

HFW 4 - Vacation is what i WANT!!

hehee!!!
kalau boleh nak vacation everyday! but alas.. we have to make ends meet and belanja family at the end of the month.
so today's theme is VACATIONNNN! and last weekend i did have a little vacation with my sayang.

we went to JAPAN!

ok fine, i didn't go to Japan. i wish though! i went to Bukit Tinggi actually. hehe! thank you honey for taking me there!! =D

i was wearing Forever 21 blue shirt and long cotton vest, black skinnies, shawl pashmina tepi jalan, braided necklace from This & That, red pumps from Cotton On, and vintage sling bag.
oh and random bracelets too. 

very basic, yes i know, but it's comfortable. travelling to a destination for a vacation must be comfortable, in my opinion, yet still presentable for the public and specially the ones you're going with. in my case, i went to Bukit Tinggi with my dearest. so i wanted to look good for him and feel the satisfaction when he likes it. hehe! who doesn't? he may not say it to my face like "weyhhh, cantik dowh baju you! where did you buy it from?" (he doesn't even sound like that! just exaggerating =p) but when he appreciates the effort, i feel joy! =D

u better be feeling it now!! go to Bukit Tinggi and try on the Kimono! it's RM20 per rental. when can you ever wear a kimono? in MALAYSIA some more?! haha!

oh please do go to Bukit Tinggi. support our local destinations! a day trip should suffice as there aren't many things to do and see. but definitely a must-go!

ok ok, so i actually wore the dress i won from Jezmine, as written in this POST, to go out with my darlings! padahal darling je. iaitu ibu.

thank you to all my dear babes who gave your ideas at my post!! i implemented every idea and in the end, i thought this combination works! thank you again!!! you babes rock!

anyway, i'm wearing a peach shawl, flower pin, light pink long cardigan, OBB dress, red skinny waist belt from Dorothy Perkins, skinny jeans and grey heels.

i know this ensemble is simple, but i wear what i think is practical and feel comfortable in. sorry k if you think it's not as "WOW" as the other girls =B i have high metabolic rate, so i can't really wear too many layers. i'll sweat like crazy! =p

oh kejap kejap! wanna know something embarrassing tak? ok i was driving yesterday from serdang to damansara (at around 9pm) and at the tol, i turned the lights in my car on coz i couldn't see the change kan. tengah nak korek 60 cents ni! so after the toll, i forgot to turn it off! until i reached home!! the embarrassing part was, I WAS HEAD BANGING THE WHOLE WAY WHILE SINGING TO THE SONGS ON MY CD! lagu nak Incubus and Yeah Yeah Yeahs.. memang goyang la kereta. dah la TGH JAM!! it was literally at stand still! omg malu la.. kalau orang kat kete sebelah nampak i head banging, apa tak diorang ingat i bangang. haihhh.. =\
and i was in my hijab and all.. how sweet (insert sarcasm here)! i even did some dance moves. aihh!! if i was looking at myself, i would think i'm mental!

the theme for today is "Celebrate Good Times".
the first thing i thought of when i read it, i had that song in my head. you know?

anyway, the theme meant celebrating Eid. this is what i wore to my friends' open house (his house is so beautiful!!). tadaaa~

yes, raya is gone, but Raya Haji is tomorrow!! be ready to stuff your face with meaty dishes, coz i know i will! haha!!

this dark turquiose/teal colour is soo pretty! it's actually my bridesmaid kurung i wore for my cousin's wedding. who says you can't wear a fancy schmancy kurung on Raya?

i wore this black shawl because i thought it would contrast with the baju, hence shows off my facial features. my face ni kecik but the features besar! hehe!!

okay the tak best part about this kurung is that it creases easily. it's so obvious but still you can't deny it's a nice pair of kurung. hehe! for casual or for formal, boleh jeee! =D
i pakai ni simple simple je. takde la versace or juicy couture. setakat kain beli kat kamdar and beading cousin buatkan. =)
