Maria Masak - Cucur Kurma!

assalamualaikum and selamat hari raya!

masih bulan syawal kan?
heeeee..

do you have boxes of kurma at home sempena bulan ramadhan yang tertangguh makan sehingga kini?
you've been giving it out to your guests during raya but still, the number of kurma hasn't decreased?
do you hear whispers of "yusuf tayyub" everytime you see your kurma laying around?

instead of throwing it out, or leave it to rot sebab tanak buang makanan (konon tanak bazir pastu dok psycho diri "i will eat kurma bila i ganti puasa or puasa enam or puasa nazar dan sebagainya")...

MAKE CUCUR KURMA!
lopeh tu dengar la whispers "yusuf tayyub kurma~" haaa. sedap sikit dengar kan? ahahahahahahakkk =p

but exactly how good is it? - you ask. 
well. pfft. it's really really good. and how do i know that? 
my housemates said so, my family said so and of course, coz i said so. ok la tu kan! hahaa!!


so let's begin!!

what you need?

1. KURMA - at least 10 biji 
2. 2 cups of tepung gandum
3. 1 teaspoon of baking soda
4. 2 spoons of sugar (atau secukup rasa. depends on your sugar level)
5. 1 1/2 teaspoon of salt (atau secukup rasa. depends on blood pressure. kalau tinggi takyah banyak. heeee)
6. about 2 cups of water (or more. or less)
7. 1 egg (optional)

*recipe sama je macam nak buat cucur bawang/kentang =)*

what now?

1. koyakkan the kurma into small bits, throw out the biji and the hard skin (if ada)
le kurma. i think i had about 15pieces here =)

2. take a bowl and mix your 2 cups of tepung gandum, baking soda, sugar and salt. add water little by little til you get a gooey mixture. you can add in the egg if you want more 'empuk' feel to the cucur (said my grandma).

3. put in your kurma koyak in the gooey mixture!

4. MIX AND MIX! weeeeeeeeeeeeee!! 

5. get a kuali with oil about 1/2 inch deep. i think you know how much oil you need.. heee =B get the oil heated up (with medium fire), then use a spoon to masukkan the gooey mix into the kuali. okaysss?
like zis!!

6. belek belek the cucur till dia jadi chris brown, then take it out and have fun repeating till your mix finito! ahak!!

this recipe was actually taught by my friend, Liyana, whom i've lost contact for quite some time.
i do miss her and let's all thank her for teaching me how to make the cucur kurma so that i can share it with you =)
